Where is everybody?
This new website?

Ist question = Why are they not up to date?

2nd - I thought that this website was for all hurdlers and not just the elite?

3rd - I don't want to be critical, but we are into the second month of competition at grass route level and yet we have no ranking for u17/m or w 100 and only a limited 400.

Any youngsters who are involved and are at a decent standard would want to see themselves on the website and then start looking for their hero, so come on and get this website rocking and rolling.

PS: Let all root for Chris R, Andy T, Mo Fa, Liam C, and the rest of the gang at the olympics.

Re: Where is everybody?
Apologies for not getting the Age Group stats up very quickly, but the site is opererated by a few very busy people. The process is underway of instructing those doing the statistics, how to upload this information and it is hoped therefore that the Age Group info but be on line very soon.

Not sure you really have three questions - more like one "Where are the age group rankings?" Which we accept, but any constructive points about what you would like to see additionally for Grass Routes/Age Group hurdlers would be most welcome. Better still, more contributions to the site from a wider number of athletes and coaches will make this site really effective!

The Hague Hurdles (Netherlands)
I need the help of British hurdles fanatics to help me get in touch with the following British young hurdlestars, because I want to invite a few of the them to an unique hurdle-only event in the hague (at the Dutch coast and government city): Zara Hohn Sarah Adam Emily Noble lloyd gumbs Kris Robertson Daniel Maynard Andrew Howell Eilidh Child Also I would like very much to hear your reaction to this event. Please read the following short history overview THE HAGUE HURDLES Three years ago it was for the first time that we organized an International Hurdle Competition at our athletic field located on the Laan van Poot, The Hague in The Netherlands. The choice for an unique concept for hurdle-only events and the excellent quality of the participants has already resulted in a prime position on our National Athletic Calendar. Our club, Haag Athletics, one of the oldest and most famous athletic clubs in The Netherlands, is dedicated to give international athletics in our country a new impulse by doing things different and better. For 2005 the organization has decided to make the junior hurdle-events (category 16 – 19 years old) international as a result. The Hague Hurdles is something unparalleled for The Netherlands and as far we know even in the world. There has never been in the 135-year old history of Netherlands Athletics an event organized where only hurdles are on the program. All ages from beginners to the world toppers will be able to participate. From the very young ones (11 years) to masters (50+), from short distances(60mH) to long distances(400mH). All hurdle-distances will be on the competition list. This busy program will start in the morning at 10 o’clock with the 60m hurdles for the girls junior D and finishes in the afternoon with the finals for the 300mH junior boys. All five Dutch Hurdle Schools will be present, this guaranteeing that also by the juniors the complete Dutch hurdle top will be competing. The date of the event is Saturday May 28, 2005. There is no other important athletic event on this day in The Netherlands. The National Hurdle Top has given this event a prominent place in their progress towards the World Championships in Helsinki. The trainings camps are so scheduled that the hurdles will be able to perform well in this event. In addition to the complete Dutch junior-hurdle top, the organization now strives to have also international youth toppers from neighbouring countries at the start. This meet will be a selection match for the European Youth and under 23 Championships 2005. Just as last year a number of strong international senior hurdle athletes will be invited to join this event. In 2004 there were participants from 8 counties. In 2003 especially the 100mH women were a very strong number. All of the 8 final contestants finished under the 14 seconds!!!! Our basic idea is that, as many athletes should run as many times as possible. That is why for all sprint categories there are A- and B-finals. We have two electronic timing systems so that we can guarantee that all the races beginning with the B-juniors always run with the wind. The accommodation is a fast 8 lanes MONDO track. The classifications of the heats are based on the best times ran in 2005/2004. The 8 fastest from the sprint heats go on to the A-final; the second 8 fastest go on to the B-final. The heats of the longer hurdle distances are also ranked by time. Our program covers the following hurdle events: Juniors National Junior D (born 1992 and 1993) Girls 60mH Boys 80mH Junior C (born 1990 and 1991) Girls 80mH and 300mH Boys 100mH and 300mH Juniors International Junior B (born 1988 and 1989) Girls 100mH and 400mH Junior A (born 1986 and 1987) Women 100mH and 400mH Men 110MH and 400mH Seniors International Women 100mH and 400mH Men 110mH and 400mH. Heat classification on time as follows: Sprint: Lane 4/5/3/6/2/7/1/8 (in order of fastest -> slowest) Long: Lane 3/4/2/5/6/7/1/8 (in order of fastest -> slowest) For further information look at www.haagatletiek.nl Please let me know what you think of this event? Would you be able to help me, especially with the british Juniors, to make this event an international success. To give you an idea how fast there has been run in The Hague so far, look at the list of our track records. Greetings from a real enthusiastic hurdle addict and I do hope to hear from you very soon! Brunel Sprint GP
Can anyopne put a bit more detail into the hurdling that may take place at the Brunel GP? They are quoting that this club will arrange and organise hurdling. The published timetable does not include any hurdles races at all. Are there going to be different age groups, is there an expected standard? The rule page quotes that they must pre-enter, but the entry form only has 60m on it! I have five hurdlers from the Isle of Wight that would like to have the opportunity to use this superb facility, they are good standard looking to get QS for AAA Indoor Champs. Nick Groocock
