Favourites Andy Turner and Dai Greene comfortably won the respective mens 110H and 400H titles in th Aviva Uk Nationakl championships.
Turner enjoying a succesful sesaon on the Grand Prix circuit was in a class of his own as he continued his preparations for the Berlin World Championships as he sped to a 13.47 into a strong head wind.
Despite the margin of the victory there were promising performances by the two athletes bound for the European u23 championships; callum Priestly twice lowering his PR first to 13.71 and then 13.69, whilst Gianni Frankis took the bronze in 13.86.
Greene meanwhile was even more of a clear cut victor, clocking his 3rd fastest time ever time, 49.07 and finsihing over a second clear of his welsh compatriot Rhys Williams, ho depsite being below par was similarly well clear of Dale Garlands 50.92 bronze medal time, with Andy Blow just outside his recent PR in 51.07.
Jessica Ennis confirmed her development into a World Class sprint hurdler, as the Heptathlon star comfortably out-paced Olympic finalist Sarah Claxton in 12.87.
Claxton at last the satisfgaction of clocking a clear season's best 13.16, as Zara Hohn edged an improving Angie Broadbelt Blake 13.40 to 13.41 for the bronze medal.
Further down the field Stephanie Gaynor's 13.81 PR secured her selection for the European Junior Championships in Serbia.
Though shorn of many of its leading performers, the Women's 400H event continued show the upturn in strength in recent years, Nusrat Ceesay's strong finish securing her first national title with her 57.13 being one of three new PR's by the finallists.
Emily Parker set a new best time 59.69 for 5th whilst Ese Okoro in 6th though not quite matching her semi final breakthough [59.76] European Junior qualifying mark.
Hannah Douglas continued her great season with a further improvement to 57.50 as Sian Scott's season best 57.71 earned her Bronze ahead of Justine Kinney.
