Allan
Scott continued his great start to the 2004 indoor
season, setting a new pb of 7.74 and in the process
attaining the qualification mark for the World Indoor
Championships to be held in Budapest in March.
Running
as a guest in the Norwich Union International in Glasgow,
the 21 year old Bob Somerville coached athlete, outpaced
Rob Newton's 7.83 season's opener to finish a creditable
3rd behind Robert Kronenberg and American Duane Ross
to dip under the Budapest qualification mark by 1/100/th
of a second and take 4/100ths off his previous best
indoor time set last year.
There
were aslo season's bests for Sarah Claxton [8.21,
running for the International Select team] and Rachel
King who clocked 8.23 as they finished in 3rd and
4th place respectively as they look for the 8.15 standard
for Budapest.
