Scott Achieves World Qualifier

Allan Scott continued his great start to the 2004 indoor season, setting a new pb of 7.74 and in the process attaining the qualification mark for the World Indoor Championships to be held in Budapest in March.

Running as a guest in the Norwich Union International in Glasgow, the 21 year old Bob Somerville coached athlete, outpaced Rob Newton's 7.83 season's opener to finish a creditable 3rd behind Robert Kronenberg and American Duane Ross to dip under the Budapest qualification mark by 1/100/th of a second and take 4/100ths off his previous best indoor time set last year.

There were aslo season's bests for Sarah Claxton [8.21, running for the International Select team] and Rachel King who clocked 8.23 as they finished in 3rd and 4th place respectively as they look for the 8.15 standard for Budapest.
