Territorial Indoor Round Up

There were some promising indoor performances across the Territories and Scottish Regions as the 2004 Indoor Campaign started in earnest. Dan Davies stood out with an excellent 7.99 victory in the Southern Youth's 60m Hurdles at Bedford, to move to second on the British all time list. The Sutton athlete now lies only 0.07 behind Brett St Louis' British record.

At senior level, Alan Scott went to the top of the year rankings with an impressive 7.81 second victory in the Scottish West District Championships at Kelvin Hall, defeating training partner Chris Baillie who was also below 8 seconds with 7.94. Scott's time was just 3/100ths outside his best set last year.

ESAA champion Kylie Robilliard added to her collection of titles with a 8.58 pb victory in the Interladies 60H at Bedford pushing the improving Chloe van Wulvan 8.73 back into second place. Also at Bedford, Decathlete John Heaney impressed with a 8.24 victory in the senior mens.

There were some good u20 performances at the newly opened indoor centre at Sheffield. Multi talented Jessica Ennis took gold in 8.81, from Katy Read [8.93] . In the Junior men's Jordan Fleary won a strong competition, his 8.07 outpacing Kevin Sempers' 8.24 and last year's top u17 Craig France who recorded 8.29.
