a.
The qualifying period for selection will be from 1st
January 2003 up to and including the final date of
selection of Sunday, 29th June 2003.
b.
All performances must be achieved during an official
competition organised in conformity with IAAF rules
(IAAF Rule 140.1).
c.
All performances must be achieved during competitions
organised or sanctioned by the IAAF, its Area Associations
and its National Member Federations. Thus, results
achieved at the university or school competitions
must be certified by the National Federation of the
country in which the competition was organised.
d.
Performances achieved in mixed events (between male
and female participants) held completely in the stadium,
will not be accepted (see IAAF Rule 140.1).
e.
Wind assisted performances (see IAAF rules) will not
be accepted.f. Year 2003 indoor performances are acceptable
for qualification purposes.
Selection
Criteria IAAF World Youth Games 2003
1)
The final selection will take place on Sunday, 29
June, immediately following the Norwich Union AAA
U-20 Championships.
2)
To be considered for selection, athletes will be expected
to have obtained UKA World Youth guidelines.
3)
Current form will be an important part of the selection
criteria.
4)
The selection panel reserves the right to make a pre-selection
of any athlete who has reached the qualifying guide
up to a maximum of one per event. These selections
can be made at any stage of the season prior to 29th
June.
5)
Up to a maximum of two athletes can be selected per
event.
6)
The selection panel reserves the right to make value
judgements on situations which it considers to be
exceptional circumstances within the reference framework
and the spirit of the general policy.
